Before I continue with the yet-to-be-titled story and other cynical rantings, I wanted to take a moment to talk a little about myself. I'm basing this on pure speculation, but I get the idea that some of the things I write go way over most people's heads. That's not an insult to anyone's intelligence, rather it is an indication that these people are not yet in on the "joke"
It is true that I am a self-proclaimed Classical cynic - an American version, which acknowledges any cultural biases that may appear in my work - as well as a person with a vision. An artist, if you will. This blog and each piece in it are a part of, what I call, the Grand Scheme (this is directly related to my other "Grand" concepts such as the Grand Orchid and the Grand Cosmic Scale . . . there are many of them, as you will soon see).
I tend to see reality and all its bastard cousins in a macro view - the Grand Structure. This Grand Structure includes, but is not limited to, the entire universe and all of its subsystems. This hyper-objective perspective affords me the opportunity to examine frequently occurring patterns within the entire structure, as well as its component structures. This pattern of repeating structures on various levels (different sizes) is called the Grand Scale (as in "scale model", and not "measuring mass"). It works like this...
The Grand Structure is comprised of many smaller scaled versions of itself. It refers to everything pertinent to the existence of the universe. The Grand Scale is the design upon which the structure is based. It works much like a scaffolding, wherein each beam (idea) is secured at each end to other beams in multi-angled joints (theories). Basically, it is a highly complex collection of geodesics. Anyone who's seen the molecular structure of a diamond should have a fair representational understanding of what it looks like.
The main difference between the structure of a diamond molecule and the Grand Structure is that the substructures of the Grand Design (synonymous with Grand Scale...I hate too much repetition) are not arranged uniformly. The bonds between each carbon atom must be equidistant to the bonds between other carbon atoms, as must the bonds between all the carbon molecules. This is not so for our universe. The substructures of the Grand Structure may have varying proportions, as well as composition, kinda like these triangles. (This is seen in both the similarities and differences between Social Psychology, Sociology, and Socio-cultural anthropology.)
That is what I am creating with everything that I do. This is an exercise I have brought into my personal life, in that my interpersonal relationships are based on what I perceive as a model fit for the Design. I ask myself questions such as, "Will this relationship benefit the Grand Scheme, or am I being short-sighted?" There are times when building a smaller relationship structure (i.e., short term) is beneficial to the Scheme, but I prefer to focus on what I know best.
Again, this hyper-objective perspective affords me the luxury of recognizing patterns that repeat, thus I can pretty much know where the train is going as soon as I step onto the platform. I don't much like trains, though. I like space ships. I don't really know where those are going, but I have a pretty good idea. The goal is to see how close I am in my beliefs.
And, really, that's all that this is for. This whole "life's work" that I've been working on my entire life. I like being ironic for the sake of being ironic, if only because that behavior mimics the patterns of the Grand Design. I lace my work with subtle grammatical and philosophical ironies that, when seen as a whole, looks like nothing more than artistic pretentiousness and self-satisfying narcissism.
I like to talk about the world in terms of myself because I am the only one who really sees that big picture, as far as I know. In any mystery novel, at least one of the characters knows everything that's going on, and the story can only be fully told from that character's perspective. It's not so much ego as it is necessity, as I would have no clue how to tell my stories from someone else's perspective. It just doesn't make sense to me to be overly creative . . . not when I'm fucked up enough without trying very hard. Why hyperventilate when there's plenty of air to go around?
In short, everything that I do is part of something much bigger. That includes A Clockwork Orange (and Purple) and anything I ever say to any human being on the planet. Artists typically create personalized representations of the world as they see it. Michelangelo created David. I created the Grand Scheme.

I hope you keep focusing on the long term in certain respects.
Grand scheme indeed...
